I’m thrilled to be in Brussels this February 15/16th for a crucial Mediadelcom meeting. We’ll be diving into the future of media, the need for change, and how deliberative communication can strengthen our EU democracy.

This event marks the finale of the Mediadelcom project, a groundbreaking EU-funded study on media landscapes in Europe.

We’ll be presenting our new book «Monitoring Mediascapes: A Premise of Wisdom-Based EU Media Governance» – a project I’m honored to have co-edited!
The book «Monitoring Mediascapes: A Premise of Wisdom-Based EU Media Governance» explores the capabilities across 14 European countries to monitor media landscapes, focusing on the risks and opportunities arising from media developments for deliberative communication. It underscores the importance of quality journalism and media literacy in supporting democratic decision-making. The Mediadelcom project, which the book reports on, aims to identify configurations of risks and opportunities for deliberative communication, advocating for wisdom-based media governance. Through empirical analysis and theoretical exploration, the book presents a comprehensive view of the current state and challenges in monitoring media transformations, emphasizing the need for a robust system to assess and adapt to these changes for the advancement of deliberative democracy.
