New chapter published: «Toward a Journalism-Other as a Paradigm of Latin American Journalistic Cultures Within the Framework of the Decolonial Turn»

I am very proud of the last chapter published in 2020. In a difficult year, together with Dr. María Cruz Tornay, I have published the chapter «Toward a Journalism-Other as a Paradigm of Latin American Journalistic Cultures Within the Framework of the Decolonial Turn» in the book» Media and Governance in Latin America. Toward a Plurality of Voices «edited by Ximena Orchard, Sara Garcia Santamaria, Julieta Brambila and Jairo Lugo-Ocando at the prestigious Peter Lang publishing house.

This study of professional culture based on the journalism-other paradigm is related to ‘other’ and decolonial thinking from a dialogical perspective with the decolonial criticism and heterarchical thinking, as opposed to colonial modernity (Castro-Gómez, 2007) and Western and Eurocentric paradigms in Latin America:
